The DataNovaX team journeyed to the Regional WiMCO® (Women in Mission Critical Operations) Tech Summit this week in The Woodlands, Texas. Alison Boen, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at DataNovaX, joined attendees at the dynamic event July 16-18, where hundreds of women gathered to discuss the latest challenges and opportunities in the data center, infrastructure and related industries.

WiMCO is a dedicated initiative by 7×24 Exchange aimed at increasing the engagement and participation of women in the mission-critical space. Recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusion, WiMCO focuses on several key areas to support and empower women in this industry, including:

  • Recruiting women into the 7×24 Exchange organization
  • Supporting WiMCO initiatives at the Chapter level
  • Promoting mission critical opportunities for women
  • Providing leadership opportunities through the community
  • Developing and supporting STEM initiatives, curriculums, scholarships, and programs

During the event, Allison was an enthusiastic participant, sharing her insights and experiences with more than 30 years of core data center design and construction experience with fellow attendees. Allison is a passionate advocate for women’s participation in STEM and mission critical industries, a key WiMCO priority, and has also been recognized for her industry work through numerous awards and as an Honored Judge for the Data Cloud Global Awards 2022, 2023 and 2024. She is currently enthused about her latest endeavor, working with DataNovaX in the development of the $1 billion Pioneer Park data center campus in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The largely untapped Wichita Falls area boasts an abundance of power and dense fiber connectivity, providing an extremely attractive alternative to the saturated Dallas-Fort Worth data center connectivity market. The area also offers a talented workforce and pro-business tax incentives that make it an extremely welcoming environment for hyperscalers, data center operators, government, and large enterprises.

At the heart of DataNovaX lies the spirit of its founder, Ahmed Abdelghani, an entrepreneur and self-starter who sees major opportunities and acts on them. He is excited by the project’s potential, recognizing that it can help ease the Dallas data center power crunch by offering an alternative location with abundant power and connectivity for today and tomorrow….. instead of building more data centers in already-crowded markets.

He is also excited about the opportunity to spur economic growth and jobs in Wichita Falls and surrounding communities. The reason? Abdelghani genuinely cares about and has deep roots in the community including his 30 years in Texas commercial real estate and a recent run for public office. A Chamber of Commerce member, father and well-known successful businessman. Abdelghani’s Pioneer Park has been well-received by the city.

Community leaders say they are pleased and look forward to the build-out of Pioneer Park, recognizing the many benefits it will bring to the area’s residents.
